Getting Ready Location For Your Wedding Day

One of the most special parts of your wedding day is the anticipation of it all, for you both. Wedding preparation photos are precious.

One of my favourite tips for great wedding photos is to thoughtfully consider the space where you will put on your dress or suit. Look for places with plenty of space and plenty of natural light, a big window or door leading to the garden is ideal. Preferably you want a space that will be clean and tidy. Don’t rule out getting ready outside if the weather is fine or an alternative space to the one you’re having your hair and make up done. And please don’t be afraid to take your photographer’s suggestion on this one.

I spent two days with them and their crew traipsing from one iconic spot to the next.

Julies choice of dress change (a one off @colleenatwoodofficial original for a demure ceremony look and sequin fitted gown for the after party) elevated each part of the day.

I was not the popular girl in school. Never the overachiever. Certainly not an academic. I gravitated toward art and sport. I never wanted to stand out in the crowd. I felt comfortable behind the camera.

I love weddings and photography. I love the artistic and physical aspect of documenting a wedding day. Getting recognition was not the goal, but it’s beyond words to have it. I just want to keep producing work my clients love.
