A Wild Wicklow Mountain Engagement Session at Glendalough and Lough Tay

The Wicklow Mountains are easily one of the prettiest spots in Ireland, especially in late summer when the purple Heather are in bloom. I had so much fun trekking around Wicklow with not only McKenzie and Alex but also their two fab mothers who all flew over to Ireland from Virginia for a few days to sort out wedding stuff before the wedding next year. I’m already looking forward to the wedding in Kilruddery and Powerscourt House. If it’s anything like my time with them on this shoot we are going to have a fab day.

Even though McKenzie and Alex are getting married in the garden county they’ve never visited the Wicklow Mountains, so when planner Waterlily Weddings suggested it as their engagement location we were all on board. I wanted to make the shoot a mix of couple photos and sightseeing tour so I scouted three locations along the Glenadough drive then took them to Lough Tay for an epic ending to the session. It was wildly windy but it wouldn’t feel authentically Ireland if it wasn’t.

Enjoy. If you’re considering the Wicklow Mountains for a shoot I know all the best spots 😉
