Choosing the right wedding photographer

Finding the right photographer is just as important as finding the right wedding dress. Here are a few tips to help you choose the right photographer for you and your wedding.

Style Matters.

There are many photography styles, from traditional/natural/documentary/vintage to many more and some even combine styles. Choose a photography style that suits you and your wedding. If you’re not sure what you like, look at the theme or style of your wedding and choose one that reflects that.

Face Time.

It’s important to not only like your photographers style and photos but it’s also important that you like your photographer. Meet with potential photographers to not only view albums but to also decide whether you are the right fit for each other. If you can’t meet in person have a Skype chat. You don’t have to be best buds but you will enjoy the experience more if you feel comfortable with your photographer.

Choosing a Professional.

You’re investing in your photographer so they should invest in you. Be sure they carry backup equipment in case of emergencies. Find out where and how they save your images. Saving your photos in multiple places is essential. Photographers range in price. A photographer with more experience will often be priced higher. Be happy with your decision, whatever you choose, so you have no regrets later. It’s best to obtain a contract and and make sure you agree to everything in it before signing.

Read Blogs.

A photographers blog is a great tool to help you choose your photographer. Blogs usually contain recent weddings or sometimes personal posts which can help you get to know the photographer. Be sure to check if there are comments from past brides and grooms.
