London Engagement Photos at Kensington Park and Westminster Bridge

I recently travelled to London to meet and photograph Pamela and Louis. They met in London while attending university so it was fitting they marked the occasion with a few photos in the city where they met.

We started in the early evening at Kensington Gardens and then onto the Royal Albert Hall for a quick outfit change and finished with the setting sun on Westminster Bridge. I’ll be travelling to Switzerland soon for their wedding and can’t wait to share all the pretty locations and details they have planned!

J&H did things their own way and incorporated private vows in the small chapel ahead of their outdoor ceremony at The Cliff at Lyons estate. It was intimate with only myself and the celebrant in attendance. A real honour to be included in private moments like this.

The term ‘dream team’ gets thrown around a lot. To me, there’s no one true ‘dream team’ when it comes to a wedding day. I think what makes a ‘dream team’ is when all the people you’ve handpicked to be part of your wedding work in sync with each other. This year marks my 20th year in Ireland. 21 years an expat. That’s exactly half my life. After this long the lines of what identity and nationality I resonate with gets a little fuzzy. But what was always clear to me is that my career belongs to the Irish wedding industry. I established my business circa 2007 on this tiny island and I could never have predicted where it would take me and what a wonderful work family (many individuals whom I now gladly call friend) I would accumulate. Though I have no perspective outside this country, the Irish wedding industry feels truly unique. Maybe it’s the fact that it is such a small place and at some point you’ll likely work with just about everyone in it, it could be the craic, or it could just be the welcoming Irish spirit. I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else or doing any other job in the world.

I’ll never tire of living in Ireland and working in some of the most beautiful venues this island has to offer. I’ve become an expert at navigating the very changeable weather. But it was a real treat to work at this beautiful place in Spain a few weeks ago with the promise of blue skies and warm air. What a pleasure it was and such a warm welcome we had at hotel Cortijo Bravo. A special destination wedding coming soon.

To truly capture the essence of a wedding day, one has to be truly present, observant, always questioning ‘What is the story being conveyed in this image?’.

For the most part, my online presence is summed up with the most beautiful, perfectly curated parts of an event. But often my most joyous moments of editing are when I can look at an image and get a feel for the real story behind the curtain. These are the images that make up the backbone of an event. The ones that describe the place, the time, and the emotions.
