Some people come into your life and change everything. With them, love feels effortless, laughter comes easy, and silence is never awkward. They understand you in ways no one else does, and with them, home isn’t a place—it’s a feeling. ❤️‍🔥

For nearly 3 decades I’ve held a camera in my hands. For nearly two I’ve called myself a wedding photographer, thriving in this identity. Creating comes second nature to me. It’s something my mind craves. If I’m not creating, boredom sets in. I chose the path of photography, but it could just as easily have been any other of The Arts. A symptom of being right brained.

What I love about art is how it evolves, and likewise how it evolves the artist. A piece of artwork is an expression of the artist that created it. Being an artist means constantly searching for your next true self. The way I take a picture, compose and edit, represents who I am in that moment of time. I can look back over my years of work and see the person I was at any given moment and compare that to the person I am today, simply by comparing my art from then and now. The evolution is evident. Art is amazing in that way. A visual record of our true selves.

The art that has always ignited intrigue in me is timeless. It doesn’t always take the same form. It’s not just one single thing, one piece of art or artist, but a multitude of mediums and people. And much like the art that I find myself drawn to, my own has taken on many variations. Though one objective has remained constant - to create something timeless and a gift that you can treasure always.

Hello to anyone who is new here. I am grateful to have you on board. My passion lies with weddings. Here you’ll find curated wedding imagery to inspire you and tips from my book (second edition very close to launching!) to make your day run and photograph as beautifully as possible. I hope you enjoy your wedding journey.

Pro tip number 1 - add in extra time to your wedding timeline. To your morning prep, to your ceremony, to your drinks reception, to your dinner. It won’t be wasted. An extra 3o minutes goes a long way to relieve time pressures on the big day.

Here’s Catie and Niall looking chill on theirs ;)

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day lovebirds. Do you know the history? From Pagan festivals to the symbol of Cupid, the Greek god of love, this holiday seems to stem from ancient Rome. According to @history

“The Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred. One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine’s actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.

According to one legend, an imprisoned Valentine actually sent the first “valentine” greeting himself after he fell in love with a young girl—possibly his jailor’s daughter—who visited him during his confinement.

Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter signed “From your Valentine,” an expression that is still in use today. Although the truth behind the Valentine legends is murky, the stories all emphasize his appeal as a sympathetic, heroic and—most importantly—romantic figure.”
