I’ll never tire of living in Ireland and working in some of the most beautiful venues this island has to offer. I’ve become an expert at navigating the very changeable weather. But it was a real treat to work at this beautiful place in Spain a few weeks ago with the promise of blue skies and warm air. What a pleasure it was and such a warm welcome we had at hotel Cortijo Bravo. A special destination wedding coming soon.

To truly capture the essence of a wedding day, one has to be truly present, observant, always questioning ‘What is the story being conveyed in this image?’.
For the most part, my online presence is summed up with the most beautiful, perfectly curated parts of an event. But often my most joyous moments of editing are when I can look at an image and get a feel for the real story behind the curtain. These are the images that make up the backbone of an event. The ones that describe the place, the time, and the emotions.

Quiet moments with Clodagh the morning of her wedding felt quite special. Having all been bridesmaids for each other’s weddings, the girls knew the drill and every moment fell into place effortlessly.

If you’ve had the pleasure of visiting Cashel Palace Hotel you’ll no doubt have taken notice of the exquisite paintings in the main drawing room. The vintage horse racing theme is subtly carried throughout parts of the hotel.
C&B fell in love with the artwork during their site visits, so much so that they incorporated these paintings into their day. How many times did you spot these paintings?

Sometimes a wedding is just too good to sum up in 10 images. C&Bs wedding is one of those weddings. It was a day jam packed and oozing with goodness, and you wouldn’t even guess by looking at their photos that we implemented ‘Plan B’ when the rain just wouldn’t let up for their ‘First Look’ because it just worked out so beautifully. But, this is Ireland after all so you best have a ‘Plan B’.
There will be multiple posts about this wedding but we’ll start with this.

POV: You have a real life fairytale wedding in an Irish castle.
Ireland is the dream destination for a fairytale wedding in a castle. With a plethora of venues to choose North, South, East, and West, this island may be small but it is mighty where it counts.

Part 2. The guest experience at M&Ns wedding included an oyster bar, champagne in the formal gardens and dinner in the grand ballroom filled with beautiful florals reminiscent of an Irish garden which created the feeling of moving from one formal garden into another. Fun fact - did you know that the gardens at Powerscourt Estate was ranked 3rd best garden in the world by @natgeo ?

Part 1. Powerscourt Estate in its full glory is a magical thing on a normal day, but on a wedding day it feels epic. Oh what a day we had basking in the sun lit blue skies.

Yesterday, The Sunday Times published an article about luxury weddings in Ireland, sharing an insider peek on what couples are splurging on when it comes to a fairytale wedding in Ireland for the high end client. I was delighted to have been asked to contribute to the piece along with some brilliant industry elite. Well done to all involved. Link to the full article in my highlights.
Excerpt from the full article by Roisin Healy:
While one might think that this market would be seeking all-out opulence, much like in the fashion world, it’s more about creating a sense of relaxed luxury. Guests may be in black tie — it ensures the wedding album looks slick — and treated to fine food and champagne, but the couple want to shirk that traditional sense of formality or stuffiness.
“Couples are going with what feels right for them, they’re choosing a luxury venue but bringing their own style and vibe. Brides and grooms are matching what they’re wearing to their wedding venue, which will naturally look and feel timeless and high-end.
“But they’re choosing dresses and tuxes with an edge, being adventurous with the texture and shape, and that naturally helps to create this editorial look,” Brosnan says.

Snippets from this seaside wedding in the sandy dunes of Doonbeg. Salty air in our hair, sand in our toes, and laughter filling the air.
