Kathy + Jim’s Wedding In Meath

Kathy and Jim had a great wedding and were in great form on the big day. I can’t say the same for myself. I was quite sick on their wedding day and ended up bringing Colin along for support. Kathy and Jim were very understanding and couldn’t have been better about the situation. I tried to find help from other photographers but with it being the day after New Years and with the snow that hit Ireland there was just no one available. However, I made it through the day with a little extra help from my fabulous assistant. Even being under the weather there are so many photos that I absolutely love of Kathy and Jim’s wedding that it was hard to choose which to post. Here’s my selection. Enjoy!

Green Weddings: Invite Less Wedding Guests

One of the toughest decisions a couple face when planning a wedding is who to invite. Often guest lists can grow to two or three times the number of people you originally intended to have at your wedding. But if you are planning an eco friendly wedding definately try and keep the wedding small. More guests equals more impact from travel, costs and quantity requirements from the venue size to the amount of food to be prepared.

Also think about how much more you will enjoy your wedding day with less people. Go for the more intimate affair and treat all of your family and friends with your attentiveness.

Kanya + Stephen | A Wedding In Thailand

If you’ve been following our blog you will undoubtedly know that we were recently in Thailand. We were in Bangkok over the Christmas holidays for a wedding. We were invited as guests but I couldn’t help bringing along my camera. It’s not often I get the chance to photograph a Thai wedding. Needless to say the ceremony was beautiful, the reception was beautiful, and the bride was beautiful (yes the groom too). Here are a few photos as a teaser to the gallery that is soon to come. Be sure to check back in the next few days for the full gallery of Kanya and Stephen’s wedding.

Our Bangkok Photoshoot

I mentioned in our Thailand blog post that we hired a photographer to photograph us for a day. The photographer we hired was Mr. Itti Karuson. He was fabulous. He scouted locations for us to visit, showed us parts of the city we wouldn’t have come across on our own, and even brought along 2 other photographers as well. It was very hard not to be noticed with 3 photographers following us around like paparazzi but we didn’t care. It was insane but so much fun! Hiring a photographer while on holidays is something we will continue to do in the future. The last time we were both in a photo together was our wedding day 3 years ago. It’s a great way to get quality images of us together on holiday. Hiring a local photographer was also a great way to get to know more about the culture and history of Thailand. It was like having a personal tour guide. I can’t express enough thanks to Itti and his team or how good an idea it is to hire a photographer on holidays (or on a honeymoon!).

Needless to say we got tons of great images. Because I am a photographer too, we (Itti and I) decided it would be best just to hand over all the RAW images to me on disks and I could edit them at home. So with 15 disks full of RAW images I still haven’t managed to sort through them. Below is just a few I pulled out and edited quickly.
