Intimate Dublin Wedding at The Merrion

2020 hasn’t quite turned out the way any of us planned and some couples are embracing the changes. Once such couple is Lisa and Mikey. Originally due to get married July 2020 in Virginia Park Lodge they quickly changed plans to August by tying the knot in an intimate ceremony at Dublin Registry office followed by dinner at The Merrion Hotel with just their immediate family. They will be hosting a much larger party to celebrate at Virginia Park Lodge in 2022 and I already can’t wait.

Due to the restriction on numbers I wasn’t able to capture their ceremony but I was able to catch them just afterwards for confetti, family photos, a few speeches and drinks, and of course lots of opportunity for couples portraits. These intimate days lend for more time with your photographer (should you wish it!). Lisa and Mikey were so blessed with the weather. It had been raining moments before I arrived.

2020 is proving to be the year to shake things up. With traditional plans being thrown out due to restrictions it can give you the opportunity to do things differently – whether it’s hosting that smaller wedding you always dreamed, throwing a second party a year or two later, having a bigger budget for those flowers that you didn’t have with a bigger wedding, or even a change of location. Lisa and Mikey prove that you can have it all – an absolutely beautiful and love filled wedding with a big celebration in the end – and a second dress to boot! *Side note – I can’t get enough of those Dublin doors.
