French Summer Wedding at La Bastide de Marie

Let’s take a break from the cold this week and travel to France. That’s exactly what I did last September with Shona and Niall, one fabulous couple from Ireland.

Just a stones throw from the hilltop village of Ménerbes resides the luxurious La Bastide de Marie. A quaint vineyard and retreat with a gorgeous view. Travelling to the South of France in summer you’d expect a day drenched in sunshine and while we did get some of that fabulous mediterranean sun we also got that very famous Provence wind. Just as the ceremony commenced the wind picked up and threatened to blow us all away. So much so that dinner was moved from outdoors to indoors. However, the tables sat perfectly in the main entryway making for a fabulous French styled wedding reception.

Keeping it simple, but completely elegant, Shona wore a Suzanne Neville wedding dress. And can we talk about the groom’s suit? Niall’s light blue jacket paired with navy trousers completed the French summer vibes. Hats off to these two for planning a spectacular wedding day.
