Lighting A Dark Wedding Venue For Photos

If you are concerned that your wedding venue is very dark there are a few things you can do to help you get great wedding photos.

Fill your venue with candles, the more the better. Candle light creates a great atmosphere and offers a natural source of light for a photographer. This is especially great if you’ve hired a natural light photographer.

Hiring a photographer who works well with flash will also benefit a dark venue. So be sure to choose your photographer wisely to compliment your venue location.

Another idea I’ve seen that works really well for a dark venue is to have a few well placed spot lights, especially for during the speeches. Adding a spotlight to the main table, or even every table, means no distracting flash photography and can create more dynamic and dramatic lighting for your photos.

So if you’re worried about your venue being too dark for great photos consider these tips and your wedding photos will benefit greatly.
