Elaine & Derek’s Winter Wedding in Verona, Italy

. category: Weddings
  • A little treat on the blog today. The sweet intimate wedding of Elaine and Derek in Verona, Italy. Surrounded by 16 of their closest and dearest these two jetted off to the city of Romeo and Juliet to declare their love.

While home for Christmas from the states Elaine and Derek decided they didn’t want to wait any longer to get married. When you’re in love why wait?! I got the news the week before Christmas they wanted to jet off to Italy in 3 weeks with their family. I was on board straight away! Ladies who feel under pressure planning a wedding in 6 months imagine the pressure planning in 3 weeks! Major props to these two. All credit is due to Paola Shanahan of Irish Weddings in Italy for making it happen.

La Magioca turned out to be the perfect spot for the wedding. They had the entire villa to themselves. Being January it was pretty cold and damp but the warm fires and dinner in the wine cellar kept the festive atmosphere of the holidays. After the ceremony in Santa Teuteria E Tosca we took advantage of a few gorgeous spots in the city for portraits just before sunset. Once back at the villa it was time to relax with good food, good wine, and good music.
