A Lovely Idea For This Day Of Love

. category: Uncategorized
  • Valentine’s Day, the official day to celebrate those you love. Be warned, I’m going to get a little mushy in today’s post. So if you have any aversions towards the big V-Day please look away now and come back next Tuesday. If you’re a big sucker for this holiday of LOVE please continue reading.

I stumbled upon a very cute article where a couple recreated their first date for their engagement shoot. It was sweet and I thought it was a great way to personalise a shoot. Exactly 9 years ago today I met my husband. Last year Colin surprised me with a photoshoot in Paris for my birthday and he chose to have a few photos taken outside the spot where we met (which looked, well, quite different in the day light!). Now we’ll always have a visual image to tell our story. How special that will be in years to come. It got me thinking about engagement shoots or any couple shoot and how special it would be to have a documentation of how you first met. Heck, we have photos to tell the story of our births, marriages, and birthdays but why not the story about the moment where we meet? So if you’re planning an engagement shoot or even if you’re already married consider making a documentation of how you met or of your first date together either by incorporating the same locations or details from those moments.

And of course a shout out to my sweet husband. I love you not just today but every day.
