Meet Sonia and Paul, two scientists who love plant life. This is their amazing wedding filled with the beauty of what they love, close family and friends and lots of plant life.
Sonia and Paul chose Kilshane House because of the beautiful conservatory. They wanted somewhere that reflected them and they couldn’t have chosen better. Both their ceremony and reception was held in the glass house with tall green trees and potted shrubs. Tables were scattered among the greenery, twinkle lights were hung for when night fell upon the open windows, and gentle touches of wild flowers and berries in jam jars adorned the tables. They kept it simple and let nature show its true beauty.
Sonia and Paul chose to have a special hand fastening ceremony and involved their families by having their mothers tie the delicate rope around their hands. Hand fastening is becoming one of my favourite symbols of marriage. It’s the original ‘tying the knot’. It was also special that they chose to have a sweetheart table instead of a top table during their reception.
Some special mentions must go to The Informal Florist, Cloudberry Bakery (doesn’t that cake look too good to eat? Almost!), Joanne Kelly, Kathryn O’Neill, and Pretty As A Picture. But I can’t get away without mentioning the beautiful Claire Pettibone dress Sonia wore, her fabulous Marc Jacobs shoes (which tied in perfectly to their garden theme!), and Paul’s super sleek Ted Baker suit. A very winning combination to say the least.
