Paris, France

  • I’m a lucky lady to have a husband who whisks me off to Paris to celebrate my 30th birthday. He surprised me the night before we left with tickets to London. But I found out the next morning in the airport they were fake!

Since we met in Paris 8 years ago I had been mentioning how much I’d love to go back to Paris for a visit but it just never happened for various reasons. Having lived there back in 2003/2004 I grew to love the city. It’s moody when it rains and full of life and love when the sun is shining.

Paris will always hold a special place in my heart and I love it in the springtime, I love it in fall, I love it in any season at all. Corny? Maybe a little, yes. But being away for so long hadn’t altered any of my feelings for that city and I’ve vowed to visit as often as possible.

Part of my birthday weekend surprise was a 4 hour photoshoot around Paris which I’ll definitely be posting later but below are our photos from the weekend. Taken exclusively with a medium format Mamiya film camera. They may not all be in focus but I love the moodiness it adds to some of the photos. It rained quite a lot of the weekend so the slightly expired film added another dimension that I just love to these photos. Hopefully you’ll enjoy looking at them as much as I do. Oh and trying to take a self timed photo on a film camera is mega difficult, just sayin’.
