A Night At The Oscars (WOL Awards!)

. category: A Slice of Christina
  • Okay so it wasn't a night at the Oscars but for the Irish wedding industry Monday was our night to shine. Weddings Online hosted their second annual WOL awards ceremony on Valentine's Day to honour the industry's top 100 suppliers and top 50 venues. Over the past several months brides and grooms across the country had the opportunity to vote for their favourites in the industry. The top 150 shortlisted were then judged by a panel of experts to select the winners. A HUGE Thank You to everyone who voted because I am so thrilled to say that I won Wedding Photographer of the Year! Also to my surprise I won the Overall Wedding Supplier of the Year award! To say I was surprised is an understatement. I think I'm still in shock and unbelievably blown away by the huge honour. My biggest Thank You goes to my very supportive husband who definitely deserves 50% of the credit. He's the best marketing manager and web developer anyone could have.My lovely dates for the evening, Aoife and Deirdre of The Bridal Lounge and Pamela of Farrell & Chase, also scooped up awards. The Bridal Lounge won Best Wedding Supplier Website, Aoife Callaghan won Bridal Makeup Artist of the Year, and Farrell & Chase won Stationary Designer of the Year. There were so many great winners and you can find the full list here, but another little hooray goes to White Orchid for winning Bridal Shop of the Year two years in a row. They also won the Overall Wedding Supplier of the Year in 2010 which I stole from them this year! You may remember all these lovely ladies from the lovely Avoca shoot we did together last year. Glad to know I pick winners to work with! The other golden winner of the night was Lough Eske Castle for Overall Wedding Venue of the Year. Looking forward to sharing my weddings there with you! Here's a little clip of my Supplier of the Year award courtesy of Wedding Videographer of the Year Gavin of Dreamcatcher Productions.

    Congratulations to all the winners!
