The Business of Weddings Ireland

  • A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending The Business of Weddings Ireland conference hosted by Annie Byrne of Aislinn Events. The first of many I hope! It was the first of it's kind here in Ireland. The conference was held in the Muckross Park Hotel in Kerry. Our guest speaker was Meghan Ely of OFD Consulting in Virginia. Many topics were covered in the two day event such as marketing to today's bride, wedding trends and inspiration, and social media.

I'll be honest and say that when I booked my place at the event I was a bit skeptical. Skeptical as to what I would get out of the conference, how could Meghan apply what's going on in the wedding industry stateside to Ireland? And would I learn anything new? While I feel I didn't actually learn anything I didn't already know I do feel the conference was highly beneficial. It was great to have a refresher and also meet so many fantastic wedding suppliers from photographers to dress designers. Networking with other like minded individuals in the wedding industry is highly beneficial. I also loved seeing everyone becoming excited by the possibilities and changes being made in the industry. I think it can only be the start of something good!Big thanks and shout out to Cloudberry Bakery for supplying us with some yummy treats. They are based in Kerry but deliver nationwide. Definitely worth a look (and a taste!)
