Mary + James’ First Look in Dublin

I was super excited to photograph Mary and James’ wedding in Dublin. Mary and James live in Australia but decided to get married in Ireland, Mary’s native land. They knew a late wedding in November wouldn’t allow much time for wedding portraits after the ceremony so they opted for a ‘first look’. For anyone new to the term, a ‘first look’ is where the bride and groom see each other before the wedding ceremony. This allows more time for portraits especially in winter months and lets you be more relaxed for the ceremony. You can also capture some really intimate and emotional moments with a ‘first look’.

Mary and James decided to meet in St.Stephen’s Green.  I waited in the park with James. When Mary arrived even I was blown away, she looked exquisite. After they saw each other we stayed in the park for some more photos and then made our way to Grafton Street. Mary and James were so stunning and natural in front of the camera that passers by thought they were models on a photoshoot! You can really see and feel how much these two are in LOVE.

Mary and James had a small intimate wedding in the Newman University Church with a casual dinner at Forty One on the green. Big Congratulations to Mary and James!

What a great idea! I'd never heard of a first look session before but it's a good solution for winter weddings. The only thing I'd wonder about is the superstition about brides and grooms not seeing each other before the ceremony.

Wow! They are like models! My fav is the either the very first one or the black and white one of them walking down Grafton Street. Perfectly executed Christina.
