Anyone who knows me well knows that I am in LOVE with Avoca. On a recent visit to the shop in Kilmacanogue I had an idea that the Fern House Cafe would be a beautiful spot for a wedding reception. I immediately got in touch with Aoife and Deirdre of The Bridal Lounge and told them my idea to use the cafe as the backdrop for our next wedding inspiration shoot. To my happy surprise they had the same idea! So I contacted the Avoca head office and everything just fell into place.
All the styling was done by The Bridal Lounge. Most everything was decorated using Avoca products such as the adorable tableware, wedding wellies, brolly, guest book, birdcages, candle holders, bicycle and all the lovely desserts (which were very tasty!) Our lovely bride Kamila wore wedding dresses from White Orchid and the stunning silk flower that adorned her hair was from Ban.do which can be sourced through The Bridal Lounge. Kamila also wore a cute pair of gold flats from Dune. Hair was done by Michelle Grimes from COM Hair Salon in Temple Bar and make up was done by Aoife. The lovely bouquets and table flowers were designed by Deirdre of Ruby and Bloom. And lastly the gorgeous wedding invitations are from Farrell and Chase in Dublin and Hello Lucky! in London.
The best thing about this inspirational shoot is to tell you that Avoca now hold wedding receptions in the Fern House Cafe! It’s such a beautiful venue and great if you’re looking for something a little different and unique.

If you’re considering the Fern House Cafe for your wedding we’d love to be there to help you remember the special occasion!

I haven’t finished editing all the photos but I just had to post a preview from Niamh and Graham’s wedding at Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel in Killiney. I just think this first image is fierce! Too bad you can’t see that Graham is wearing a custom made black kilt with some really cool biker boots! These two are awesome!

Thanks Niamh and Graham for being super fabulous!

I was asked by the super talented Aisling of Rangoli and Tara of Cupcake Me! to do a photoshoot incorporating both their businesses. Why? Because they are sisters, and both super talented at what they do. I jumped on board because I knew I could use the photographs to promote Irish suppliers to Irish brides. Cupcakes are definitely a trend for wedding cakes and I’ve not seen cuter cupcakes than Tara’s! Tara’s attention to detail and the time she spends creating the intricate detailing on each cake astounds me.
Aisling created the gorgeous hairband that was worn by Claire, one of my brides, on her wedding day. You may remember Claire and Eddie’s 2 part wedding post. These girls are truley talented. If you’re considering a cupcake tower for your wedding or wanting a customised piece of jewellery, Aisling and Tara are your girls!

Triona and Louis were married in the quaint town of Glandore in West Cork. When I arrived in the morning the sun was shining. It is the most picturesque location for a wedding. When the sun is shining in Glandore it’s like you’re not in Ireland anymore, it’s as if you’ve been transported to some beautiful spot in the mediterannean. It took my breath away, and so did the bride and groom. Triona and Louis were so calm, so in love, and so great in front of the camera. Triona and Louis had a short blessing at the chuch on the grounds of The Rectory. With the town just at our footstep there was endless possiblilites for photos. If time allowed I could have photographed the two of them all day.
The Rectory was beautiufully decorated with little touches of nautical themes as Triona and Louis both have a love of boats and diving. It was the perfect setting with the house overlooking the bay as the sun set on the many sailboats floating in the water. It was the perfect day.
Congratulations Triona and Louis. I hope you’re enjoying your honeymoon!
Venue: The Rectory, Co.Cork

I first met Emer and Robert on their wedding day. Emer and Robert live in Australia but were coming home to Ireland to get married. Emer went to college with my husband Colin and that’s how she heard I was a wedding photographer. It always amazes me when people put trust in someone they’ve never met.
I only got a brief idea of what they looked like from photos on the internet but I could tell they were a stunning couple. They were both so fantastic in front of the camera and I could have photographed them for hours. I had a hard time picking photos to post as I simply love all of them. The first one below is one of my absolute faves from their day. Emer had a veil with a blusher so I had her put it over both of them. I love the way she is looking at Robert. Thank you both for putting trust in me to capture your wedding day!
