What should my child wear for a portrait session?

I wanted to take a moment to offer some advice to parents. I often get asked what their child should wear for a portrait session. So I took a little inspiration from one of my favourite sites, Etsy. With the often dreary weather we get in Ireland it is better to have your child wearing colour rather than a white t-shirt. Play around with their clothes, mix and match colours, add cute accessories. Big bows on girls and funky neck ties on boys add so much more to a portrait. For babies it is better to have them wear clothing that is more snug and form fitting rather than loose and baggy. Put them in new clothing rather than something that they have worn a dozen times and looks faded or tatty. And remember kids can be fussy about their clothing. They don’t always want to wear what you choose for them, and you do want them to be comfortable for the photoshoot. A tood tip: Pick out a couple outfits and let them choose the one they want to wear!
